Wayne Maiorano is a Partner at the Smith Anderson law firm in Raleigh, where he co-leads the firm’s Real Estate Development practice group. Wayne is a long-time resident of Raleigh, moving here after active-duty service in the US Marine Corp. He is a former member of the Raleigh City Council and a passionate supporter of our City’s Parks and Greenways. Wayne presently serves on the Dorothea Dix Park Conservancy Board.
Mitchell is a principal with McAdams, a land planning and design company. He is responsible for providing advisory services in urban planning, parks and public space planning. He is an award-winning planner with more than 35 years of experience and is internationally recognized for his leadership and contributions to contemporary planning issues. He is a prolific public speaker and he specializes in comprehensive planning, placemaking and implementation strategies. Prior to joining McAdams, Mitchell served as the commissioner for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation; Chief Planning Officer in Raleigh, NC and served as president of the American Planning Association. He is currently president of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
L.T. McCrimmon serves as Director of Legislative Affairs for Governor Roy Cooper. McCrimmon was previously Deputy Legislative Director for the Governor’s Office and served as Deputy Director for Government Affairs for the NC Department of Health and Human Services. She was President Joe Biden’s North Carolina State Director for his 2020 campaign. She graduated from Shaw University and holds an Executive Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University. She’s a native of Laurinburg, NC
Merritt, a proud native of the Triangle, is a graduate of NC State University, where she earned a business degree. Her career has included positions at WakeMed Health & Hospitals and Nexsen Pruet law firm. Currently, she is the Director of Business Development + Marketing at Holt Brothers, Inc, supporting the commercial construction company and the Holt Brothers Foundation. From the outset of her career, Merritt has been an active and engaged member of our community.
Her positions have included work in public involvement, government affairs and community engagement. At Holt Brothers, she serves on the senior leadership team and is part of the DEI team, helping lead efforts to build and engage a diverse workforce. Working on projects such as the Wake County Schools SummerSTEM Teacher Immersion, the Kenan Fellows program and the Wilson County Middle School After School program has allowed the opportunity to promote the construction industry and the multiple opportunities available within it.
